[COCKROACH FOUND IN OUR FOOD] Sometimes when you read posts online about insects in people’s food, it makes me wonder if one day it will happen to me.Unfortunately, this incident happened to us today.We ordered zichar from Tong Garden Seafood Restaurant through the deliveroo app. What came to us was a pork rib that was delivered wrongly as we didn’t order it the curry fish was not present. Furious enough, we contacted deliveroo and they quickly assisted to rectify the problem. I even asked deliveroo if they can retrieve the wrongly delivered pork rib as that was not what we ordered but they told us that we can have it. (I guess it’s covid now so they wouldn’t want to return food items?)We tried the pork rib and to our unpleasant surprise, found a dead cockroach mixed inside it. We were already down to our last 2 pieces. I was in disbelief at first when I saw the cockroach. In my mind I saw it and I was rejecting the fact that it was a cockroach until I used my chopstick to flip it. And yes. A big dead cockroach inside it and some of its legs were missing. I guess we most likely have swallowed it. The fish head curry came at around the timing when we discovered the cockroach. At this point in time, we have already lose all our appetite. I only ate like one bite of the fish and we threw everything away. Just the thought of it was disgusting. I am actually quite disappointed to see this. I have just recently moved here and also found this zichar store that I like. We have ordered a couple of times with them within the past few months. Their food is good. But I guess unlucky enough to have served us a “ free dish with cockroach in it “ Well. Thanks for spoiling my dinner and appetite~ Deliveroo is currently helping out with the investigation. I hope that you can look into this matter. Food safety is important. It should be compromised by your negligence. Hate to say this, but I’m not going to order again in the near future. This was a scary experience.
