Simon Road Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee (Since 1960s)
Simon road Hokkien mee is like an in between of dry and wet style Hokkien mee. It is not exactly dry because you still find some zup in it, but neither is it the wet kind.
They have $5 & $8. If you are a bit eater like us, please just order the $8.
It looks like this when you dabao (takeaway):

It comes with lime and pork lard at the side:
You might be thinking, wah $8 only one prawn? Nono, please scoop inside! So why are the ingredients underneath? Cause when they scoop the noodles onto the plate, the ingredients are on top. Then when they pour it down into the brown paper, the ingredients get bury inside!

The magic happens when you travel back home with your Hokkien mee. The noodles and beehoon are simmered inside the brown paper with the “zup”. And then when you finally got home, you get the Hokkien mee at a whole new level!
It’s so damn good!
